In my positions as International Business Development Manage at http://www.tiptopjob.com/ I am always looking bat ways to make contact with the highest level of person I can in the organisations I have targeted to sell to.
The easiest way to get information is to use the vast range of tools that are free such as linked In, Google, and other search engines. There are also a number of high quality books such as the Personnel Managers Year book which when you are selling into the HR / Resourcing and BPO / MSP sectors can prove very valuable.
I have also come across a great bit of kit called Drag & Tag http://www.drag&tag.com/ an application which allows you to store up to 250 linkedin Profiles FREE you can then upgrade to an enterprise product if you so wish. The point is you do not have to buy a profile organiser from Linked In because the drag and tag application sits on your too, bar ready to use when needed.
So you have the contacts. do some research before you contact them, this is not rocket science but you will be amazed how many people steam straight in with a pith without even asking the prospect if its a good time. Listen to what people say to you and act on it if people ask for information then give them what they have asked for. if they tell you to go away and they will !! establish a good time to call them back.
Use the tools and make the most of the fact that most prospects if approached in the right way will listen and if you have something they need they will buy it.

Anti Social Behavior - What can be done
The tragic news of a man in Manchester dying after suffering up to 17 years of emotional abuse and bullying is very close to my heart, as the father of a boy with special needs this is my worst nightmare. So how do we control this - There are lots of people who say string them up , put them in jail etc etct etc, I agree with this in a lot of cases and make no bones about it bit, without wanting to come across as a hybrid Sun / Daily Mail reader the point is that all children have parents and that is where responsibility lies.
Over the last 13 years a whole generation of people have grown up and had everything handed to them on a plate. If you were 8 when Labour came to power you will have seen a situation where we went through a major boom but still millions of people do not work and have no desire to go to work because they get everything handed to them in benefit.
So here's my solution and I will admit that there is a bit Daily Mail ish . If your kids are found being anti social and you are on benefit you loose your benefit and if you are working you get fined so much money you WILL look after your kids in future and make sure they do not act like animals.
RIP to the guy in Manchester IO hope the scum that carried out the attacks are punished. Believe me they are scum and deserve everything they get.

Business Development - How to mov your orgabnisation forward
As a new business specialist I spend a good part of each day researching and then contacting organisations to introduce my services to relevant people. What I find most frustrating is the fact that when I get to the very top of an organisation people are very receptive and willing to listen and even take on board hat I am saying. However people who are paid to look at new opportunities for their organisation can be very dismissive, difficult to get hold of and my biggest bugbear of all Never is say Never return voice mail messages ( what is the point of voice mail if you do not respond to messages !!!!!!).
I know these people are doing their job in preventing too many calls or opportunities get through but I would suggest that they are also not doing their job because these new opportunities could save money, deliver better services, work better etc etc etc.
So here's a suggestion if some one calls offering a service at lest have the decency to listen and make an informed decision on what is being offered to your business. You have nothing to loose and you may actually be able to d your job better as a result of some new services.

First Blog of 2010
OK its the 26th of Jan and this is my first blog of the new year so let's begin with Happy New Year everyone ( better late than never ) so what have we got to look forward to this year. Well the worst day of the year is behind us apparently, depends on what you look for in average day, the snow has gone for now but I suspect that here is more on the way and once again the country is held up as a laughing stock because people cannot even get to work.
Anyone enough editorial lets get to the meet of things. I have started a new job as International Business Development Manager with a group of job boards called www.tipopjob.com check it out 1 generic board, 35 industry specific boards and a network that covers 83 countries not bad hey !!
The deal is that as job seekers start to look for jobs and companies start to hire again ( BTW today is the day that we emerge from recession again !!) people are going to change the way that they search job boards and other methods of on line recruitment. Social media is here to stay I know of 2 FTSE 100 companies using a combination of Twitter and Linked in to post jobs for free and they would appear to be getting a god response judging by the number of vacancies they are posting.
Targeting the job seekers you are looking for is the next step in on line recruitment. You can get many candidates fro a number of sources and there are many ATS solutions that will enable you to manager the expectations of job seekers and communicate with candidates allow on line screening etc etc etc.
However if you put your vacancy where the job seekers you are looking for is looking for a ob you get better response, less wastage, your money goes further and the candidates you get are the ones who want to do the job you are looking to fill. Sounds good to me and it should to you. Want more information call me on 0044 9776 381502 Have a great day.
